MY WORK

My art is a statement against how women have continuously been portrayed naked in art. Traditionally, the subjects eyes are turned away so the viewer can enjoy and be able to easily objectify the woman. Instead, I paint my naked women with big eyes in order to force the viewer into a dialogue with the artwork. This is to make the viewer slightly uncomfortable, and results in the woman in the picture no longer being seen as merely an object but an active subject proud of her body, and aware of watchful eyes.
